50.21043 The Pros and Cons of Freedom in the United States: Understanding African American Race relations in American Communities
This paper will seek to understand how Affirmative Action has sought to develop a sense of equality and freedom for African Americans from the racist society of America's past. In this way, we can learn how America portrays an image of freedom for all, but has a long way to go in developing a real sense of freedom for minorities that live within the U.S.
This paper provides and identifies the qualities within three images relating to the civil rights movement. Two are from historical events (Sit-ins and college protests) while the third is of Mumia Abu-Jamal. The paper demonstrates that while power is present within these images, there is still a significant problem with inequity in the United States.

52.21566 Race, Religion and Political Relations: The Nation of Islam and the U.S. Government
This paper will seek to present the religious, political, and racial views of the Nation of Islam in the American political scene. By understanding Louis Farrakhan's agenda for a radical racist policy of black supremacy around the world, we can realize his lack of nationalistic devotions to the American government. By constantly dividing whites and blacks between the Nation of Islam and the American government, we can see two polarized views that clash in the War on Terror.

53.21736 Ocean Hill-Brownsville Dispute
The Ocean Hill-Brownsville dispute erupted when in May 1968 a number of teachers and educators were fired from their jobs. Except for one, all the dismissed educators (19 in total) were white whereas the local school board members that fired them were predominantly black. The incident of firing and the consequent disputes was rooted in the long history of race relations and the dilemma of right movements in the United States.
